Biography

Maryam Rafati is engaged in research focusing on the design of custom analog mixed-signal integrated circuits. Her recent work involves the design of an implantable wireless optical fluorescence sensor, a challenging and intellectually stimulating project. Maryam completed her MSc program in microelectronics from 2015 to 2017, specializing in analog integrated circuit design for radio frequency communication. During her studies, she designed low-noise amplifiers for ultra-wideband RF communication. As a PhD researcher, she is collaborating on an interdisciplinary project funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) to design micro ASICs for implantable optical fluorescence detection. Her research includes designing high-sensitive optical front-ends and low-power 12-bit SAR ADCs with built-in chip biasing oscillators. Currently, she is working on the design of a 12 Kbit low-power SRAM and wireless data uplink/downlink circuits. Since 2020, Maryam has been a laboratory and project assistant for the EKS course TSEK06 - VLSI Chip Design Project, as well as serving as a teaching assistant for courses such as TSEK03 - Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits and TSEK38 - Radio Frequency Transceiver Design. In addition to her research, she is actively involved in LiuPhD, the Linköping University PhD network, aiming to connect PhD students and improve research opportunities.
