Biography

Maryam Saeedifard received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, in 1998 and 2002, respectively, and her Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2008, specializing in electrical engineering. From 2007 to 2008, she worked at ABB Corporate Research Center in Dattwil-Baden, Switzerland, focusing on power electronic systems. In January 2010, she joined Purdue University as an assistant professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She became a faculty member of the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in January 2014. Her main research areas include Power Electronics, Power Systems, Transportation Systems, High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission, and the grid integration of renewable energy resources. Saeedifard has served on various technical program committees including IEEE Power Electronics Society, and has been an editor for IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, Power Delivery, and Power Electronics.
