Dr. Maryna Sydorova

Biography

Maryna Sydorova is a data engineer and scientific programmer at the Institute of Communication and Media Science at the University of Bern. She has worked as a freelance data scientist and cloud architect with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence. Her primary focus has been on the SNF-DFG project examining populist radical-right attitudes and political information behavior, conducting a longitudinal study on attitude development in high-choice information environments. She is responsible for the design and maintenance of automated content analysis pipelines used to identify politics-related content. Additionally, she is involved in the BAKOM project, where she works as a full-stack developer implementing a cloud-based cross-platform algorithm audit infrastructure. Maryna has presented her research at various conferences, discussing topics related to memory, data analytics, and content selection in digital environments.
