Biography

Masoud Zamani is an interdisciplinary scholar with a focus on international relations, international criminal law, international human rights law, international economic law, criminology, and the legal political history of the Middle East. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham in 2015 and has taught in four countries, including the University of Nottingham, Shiraz University, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, and the University of British Columbia. His research has been published in both English and Persian, examining topics such as international criminal justice, international humanitarian law, and the interplay of law and social psychology. In recent years, Masoud has expanded his research to include artificial intelligence and its implications for military strategy and international law, especially in the context of the Middle East. He is also the creator of the AI Open Education Initiative, which explores the legal and ethical dimensions of AI in global affairs. His work has been featured in leading policy and academic forums, addressing pressing issues at the intersection of law, conflict, and technology.
