Dr. Massimiliano Orri

Biography

Massimiliano Orri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University and serves as a Principal Investigator at the Douglas Research Centre. He is also an Associate Member of the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health at McGill, and holds a position as an adjunct senior researcher at the Danish Research Institute for Suicide Prevention. His training encompasses clinical psychology and public health methodology with a concentration on biostatistics and epidemiological research. In his clinical practice, he focuses on the Depressive and Suicide Disorders Program at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. His research specializes in psychiatric epidemiology, leveraging large population-based longitudinal studies and nation-wide registries to identify early-life developmental risk factors associated with suicidal behavior and mood disorders across the lifespan. His research adopts a multidisciplinary approach, integrating psychiatric epidemiology, behavioral genetics, genetic epidemiology, and developmental psychopathology.
