Biography

Mateja Novak received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Zagreb University, Croatia, in 2014, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2020. She is currently employed as an Assistant Professor at AAU Energy, Aalborg University, Denmark, after completing her postdoctoral research at the same institution. Her expertise encompasses model predictive control, multilevel converters, machine learning, statistical model checking, and reliability in power electronic systems as well as renewable energy systems. Mateja's work contributes to various UN Sustainable Development Goals. She has been active in research projects and has received accolades, including the EPE Outstanding Young EPE Member Award in 2019 and the 2nd prize in the 2021 IEEE-IES Student Young Professional Competition. Additionally, she has served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification and is a member of several professional organizations.
