Biography

Matejka Rebolj completed her BSc in Economics and MSc in Public Administration before obtaining her PhD in Public Health/Epidemiology at Erasmus Medical Centre Rotterdam. She has significant postdoctoral experience as an associate professor at the University of Copenhagen and as a senior researcher at Copenhagen University Hospital Hvidovre. In 2016, Rebolj joined the Cancer Prevention Group, which focuses on the evaluation of current screening practices including organized screening programs, the assessment of new screening methods, and the development of methodologies to evaluate screening. She extensively utilizes population health registries in both the Netherlands and Denmark. Currently, she serves as the principal investigator for an ongoing epidemiological evaluation of the English HPV Pilot, commissioned by Public Health England, and is a steering committee member of ECaDE, a new EU-wide network aimed at improving the clinical evaluation of novel biomarkers for early cancer detection. Additionally, she is a member of Public Health England's Laboratory Technology Group.
