Biography

Mathias Fischer is a Professor of Computer Networks at the University of Hamburg since December 2021. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at Universität Hamburg from 2016 to 2021 and held positions at the University of Münster (2015-2016) and as a Postdoc at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) at UC Berkeley (2014-2015). He also worked as a Postdoc at the Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt (CASED) at TU Darmstadt from 2012 to 2014. His research interests encompass network security, resilient distributed systems, network monitoring, and botnets. Mathias received his PhD in 2012 and a diploma in computer science in 2008, both from TU Ilmenau.
