Biography

Mathieu Blanchette is a Professor at the School of Computer Science at McGill University, where he founded the Computational Genomics Lab. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Washington in 2002 and a postdoc at UC Santa Cruz in 2003. His research focuses on developing computational approaches to key questions in genomics and evolution, particularly in the areas of genome evolution, gene expression regulation, and transposable element annotation.
