Biography

Mathieu Bujold's academic and professional journey stands at the intersection of social sciences, health sciences, and evaluation. He holds a PhD in anthropology from Laval University, a Master's in cognitive sciences from Bordeaux II University, a Master's in molecular and cellular biology, and a Bachelor's in biochemistry. Mathieu was a postdoctoral researcher in primary care from 2015 to 2018 at the Family Medicine Department of McGill University. His research interests focus on community health care organization, therapeutic trajectories of marginalized individuals, medical anthropology, and Indigenous well-being. Since 2007, he has provided expert consulting services to various university research groups, health and social services institutions, and international organizations. He has extensive fieldwork experience in multicultural settings, particularly in South America. Between 2011 and 2014, he served as a qualitative and quantitative analysis advisor in Bolivia, where he conducted participatory program evaluation projects with local Indigenous organizations. In 2018, he officially joined the Department of Health Management, Evaluation and Policy at ESPUM, where he teaches qualitative methodologies and mixed methods. He became a clinical assistant professor in this department in 2021, contributing to knowledge transfer between academia and institutions to inform public debate and decision-making for a learning health system.
