Biography

Mathieu Lévesque led the Silviculture Group at ETH Zurich since 2018. His interdisciplinary work focuses on understanding the vulnerability of both native and non-native tree species to climate change and developing adaptive silvicultural strategies to enhance forest resilience. He has made significant contributions to advancing knowledge of how trees and forests respond to drought, elevated atmospheric CO₂, nitrogen deposition, and human-induced disturbances. His research spans a wide range of forest ecosystems, including temperate forests in Europe and North America, as well as boreal forests.
