Dr. Matilda Becker

Biography

Matilda Becker is the Strategic Partnerships Manager at Oxford Net Zero, where she coordinates strategic partnerships across various sectors including policy, civil society, and business to enhance accountability and integrity for net zero initiatives. Her role involves producing briefings and reports and conducting interdisciplinary research related to net zero regulation. Matilda's primary research interests revolve around stakeholder engagement, focusing on building networks with businesses and academics to develop sustainable solutions that address environmental issues on both local and global scales. With an academic background in policy, she has previously been an advocate for business-education collaborations as a member of the organization Cambridge Ahead. Matilda earned her DPhil in Geography and the Environment from the University of Oxford in 2021, where her research investigated the expansion of mineral resource development in the Arctic regions of Canada, analyzing the impacts of public engagement mechanisms on community trust and support for these developments. She also holds an MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management from the University of Oxford.
