Biography

Matilda Larsson is a Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) specializing in medical image processing. She received her PhD in Technology Health from KTH in 2010 and later completed a postdoctoral fellowship at KU Leuven from 2010 to 2011. Since 2014, she has been on the Tenure Track at KTH. Her research primarily focuses on the development and validation of medical imaging technologies aimed at enhancing diagnostic and treatment strategies in healthcare. She specializes in quantitative ultrasound methods and their applications in cardiovascular and obstetric contexts, as well as tissue elasticity assessment using shear wave elastography. Her research has been funded by several prestigious organizations including the Swedish Research Council, Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation, and Marie Curie - VINNMER International Qualification, among others. Larsson actively engages in teaching various courses in medical engineering and health technology.
