Matt Brennan is an author, musician, and researcher focusing on popular music studies. He has served as the Chair of the UK & Ireland branch of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM) and is currently a Professor at the University of Glasgow. His current research encompasses music sustainability in relation to the climate crisis, popular music history, and the evolving music industry dynamics, particularly in live music. Matt is interested in supervising PhD students in various areas of popular music studies, including the analysis of music education for disabled musicians and the historical context of music genres.
