Biography

Matt Martell (CPA, CMA, Red Seal Chef) is a lecturer at the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University. He teaches courses in Accounting, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy, as well as Teamwork and Collaboration. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he collaborates with the Student Engagement Office and the Beedie Career Management Centre on various recruitment projects and initiatives. His primary interests include training, coaching, and developing students to compete in academic case competitions worldwide. He has played a significant role in establishing the Case Competition Training Program for undergraduate students and the Beedie Case Academy for high school students in the Lower Mainland. Aside from his academic role, Matt serves as a Senior Associate at Octothorpe Software Corporation, where he works with corporate and governmental organizations to improve decision-making processes. In recognition of his active involvement with the university, he was awarded the BASS Alumni Impact Award in 2015.
