Biography

Matt Ruark is a Professor and Extension Specialist in Soil Environmental Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He specializes in Soil Fertility and Nutrient Management, focusing on how soil health impacts agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability. His research encompasses a range of topics including soil fertility management for grain, biofuel, and vegetable crops, as well as cover crop management. He is actively involved in examining the relationships between agricultural production and water quality, particularly within dairy cropping systems. Ruark investigates the management of soil organic matter and nutrient cycling in agroecosystems, contributing valuable knowledge to enhance sustainable agricultural practices.
