Biography

Matteo Ceriotti received his M.Sc. summa cum laude from Politecnico di Milano in 2006 and later earned his Ph.D. in 2010 from the University of Glasgow in Aerospace Engineering. His research career includes a period as a research fellow at the Advanced Space Concepts Laboratory at the University of Strathclyde from 2009 to 2012, leading initiatives on orbital dynamics for large gossamer spacecraft. In 2012, Ceriotti returned to the University of Glasgow as a lecturer specializing in Space Systems Engineering. He is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Ceriotti's primary research interests lie in the fields of space mission analysis, trajectory design, orbital dynamics, and spacecraft autonomy. He is currently investigating hybrid propulsion technologies for future spacecraft, and developing novel mission concepts utilizing these advanced systems. His expertise also extends to the design and control of non-Keplerian orbits for future Earth observation and telecommunication platforms. He has contributed to various significant projects, including the European Student Moon Orbiter (ESMO) and has actively participated in Global Trajectory Optimization Competitions.
