Biography

Dr. Brady has extensive experience working with adipocyte cell lines, primary adipocytes, and rodent models to contribute to the understanding of obesity and metabolic diseases. His lab is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health for a collaborative project investigating the role of chronic social isolation on mammary gland development and tumor initiation in a spontaneous Sprague Dawley rat model. Furthermore, Dr. Brady serves as Chair of the Ph.D. granting Committee for Molecular Metabolism and Nutrition and is Co-Principal Investigator of the NIDDK-funded T32 Interdisciplinary Molecular Metabolism Training Program. The Brady lab also provides assistance to researchers in the greater Chicagoland area, helping with assay development and analysis of adipose tissue and insulin sensitivity using both human and rodent samples. His research activities include funding from several NIH grants focusing on various aspects of adipose function and cancer risk related to chronic stressors.
