Biography

Dr. Matthew T Cerasale is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago in the Section of Hospital Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from Purdue University and earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Cerasale completed his Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI, where he served as Chief Medical Resident during his fourth year. Before joining the University of Chicago, he worked as the Performance Improvement Director and the QI Teaching and Research Director for the Internal Medicine residency program at Henry Ford Hospital. His focus on quality improvement includes developing evidence-based tools and metrics for patient care. Dr. Cerasale has also received a Master of Public Health from Michigan State University and is actively involved in the Society of Hospital Medicine, where he is a Senior Fellow and the current chair of the Quality Improvement Special Interest Group.
