Biography

Matthew Eaton is a Reader in the Nuclear Engineering group within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. He has been part of this group since September 2022, having previously served as a Senior Lecturer from September 2019 to August 2022 and as a Lecturer from 2012 to September 2019. He completed a Royal Academy Engineering research fellowship between 2007 and 2012 and worked as an Arthur William Groves research fellow in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering from 2004 to 2007. Matthew’s academic journey began with his PhD in Computational Physics, awarded by Imperial College from 1998 to 2004, following an MSci in Physics from the same institution from 1993 to 1997. His research interests primarily focus on Nuclear Engineering and he has contributed to various significant projects related to nuclear data dissemination and associated computer programs.
