Matthew Jennejohn leads an active career as a soloist, orchestral player, and chamber musician specializing in the Baroque oboe and cornetto. He performs and records with many leading early music ensembles in North America, including Ensemble Arion, La Nef, Les Idées Heureuses, Tafelmusik, La Bande Montréal Baroque, Les Boréades, Les Voix Humaines, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, and Toronto Consort. He is also a member of the Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra. Co-founder of the Montreal-based cornetto and sackbut ensemble La Rose des Vents, he has studied early music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, McGill University, and the University of British Columbia. Jennejohn's performances can be heard on various recordings by noted labels such as ATMA, CBC, Early-Music.com, CPO, Analekta, and Naxos. He currently teaches Baroque oboe at McGill University while building his own cornettos for professional players worldwide.
