Dr. Matthew Jones

Biography

Matthew R. Jones is an Associate Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine. He has a PhD from Boston University School of Medicine and a BA from the University of Delaware. His research interests include innate immunology, pulmonary epithelial lymphatic biology, and post-transcriptional mechanisms of gene expression. Dr. Jones is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education, working on initiatives to enhance recruitment of under-represented groups in the field. He serves as the Director of the Graduate Program in Molecular Translational Medicine and has been instrumental in developing programs that support students from diverse backgrounds. His contributions to medical school admissions focus on a holistic review of applicants, emphasizing their strengths and perseverance. He actively participates in various committees and training programs that foster a supportive educational environment.
