Biography

Matthew Knuiman is an established biostatistician and epidemiologist affiliated with the University of Western Australia. He earned his BSc (Hons) and PhD in Statistics from the University of Western Australia. He served as an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics at Harvard School of Public Health before returning to the University of Western Australia in 1988, where he took on various teaching and research positions in Biostatistics. After a distinguished career, he retired in 2020. He has been actively involved in collaborative research focusing on population clinical epidemiology, specifically in areas such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. His leadership roles at UWA spanned various committees and departments, including serving as Head of the Department of Public Health and the School of Population Health.
