Biography

Matthew Kornya is an Internal Medicine Specialist and Emergency Critical Care Resident at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). He graduated from OVC in 2014 and initially entered feline specialty practice, becoming an ABCP Feline resident in Canada. After working as an emergency veterinarian in Southern Ontario, he returned to OVC in 2020 to pursue a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine (DVSc), focusing on hematology and feline coagulation medicine. Following completion, he began his residency in emergency critical care. Kornya serves as an internal medicine consultant in the Niagara region of the Greater Toronto Area. He is actively involved with the EveryCat Health Foundation, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. His research interests include hematology, coagulation medicine, feline medicine, and extracorporeal therapies.
