Biography

Matthew Leidl, MD, is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology & Vision Sciences. He obtained his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his undergraduate studies at Boston College. Dr. Leidl has a diverse background that includes serving with Generations Incorporated, a non-profit organization that provides literacy tutoring to school children. He then pursued an internship in Internal Medicine at SUNY Upstate, followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at Nassau University Medical Center. Dr. Leidl also completed an additional year of specialized training in Glaucoma at the West Virginia University Eye Institute. Currently, he provides medical and surgical care to patients at Boston Medical Center and Boston University Eye Associates, with a focus on the management of glaucoma and cataracts. He is actively involved in medical education, lecturing and teaching medical and optometry students, as well as ophthalmology residents and fellows. Dr. Leidl's research interests include Circadian Rhythm, Intraocular Pressure, Tonometry, and Ocular Disease Progression.
