Matthew McCauley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MD from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. McCauley completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a fellowship in Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. He is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. His clinical practice is focused on the Emergency Department as well as the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. Dr. McCauley’s clinical teaching interests include respiratory support, mechanical circulatory support, and critical care echocardiography. He plays a vital role as the Associate Medical Director of the UW Organ Tissue Donation Service, where he manages patients and facilitates organ and tissue donation in the state. In his free time, he enjoys running and cycling in the outdoors.
