Biography

Matthew McInnes completed his radiology training at the University of Toronto and earned his PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Amsterdam under the supervision of Patrick Bossuyt. He is a Professor at the University of Ottawa in the Department of Radiology, with a cross appointment to the School of Epidemiology and Public Health. Currently, he serves as the Resident Research Director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program, working as a radiologist in the divisions of Abdominal and Chest Radiology at The Ottawa Hospital. Additionally, he holds a position as an Associate Scientist in the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute's Clinical Epidemiology program. His research interests focus on diagnostic test accuracy, systematic reviews, and reporting bias. He is a lead author of the PRISMA-DTA Statement and is actively involved in editorial boards for prestigious journals like 'Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging' and 'Radiology'. McInnes is also a member of the Li-RADS steering group and leads its Evidence Working Group.
