Biography

Matthew Niemeyer, MD grew up in St. Louis, MO, and spent 10 years in Ann Arbor where he obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan. After completing his internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, he returned to his hometown for a diagnostic radiology residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis. He finished his training with a Vascular Interventional Radiology fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Niemeyer joined the Interventional Radiology section in 2024 as an associate professor (CHS). His professional interests encompass interventional oncology, portal hypertension, and large animal model translational research.
