Biography

Matthew Skrzypczyk is an Acting Assistant Professor in French and Italian Studies at the University of Washington. He earned his Ph.D. in French Francophone Literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2021. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed a Master's degree in French Francophone Literature at the same institution in 2017, and a Bachelor's degree in French Art History from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2014. His academic research is focused on French Francophone literature and explores themes related to queer histories and cultures within the Francophone world. He teaches various courses in French studies, including subjects that delve into the socio-cultural aspects of modern Paris and the global narratives within Francophone literature.
