Biography

Matthew joined the Manchester School of Architecture in 2017, bringing with him a wealth of professional experience accumulated over a decade in the architectural field. His research is primarily concerned with post-1945 architectural practices, focusing on adaptation and adaptive reuse of historic buildings for social, economic, and environmental reasons. He holds a PhD in Arts and Social Sciences from The Open University and has completed a Master of Arts by Research in Architecture at Manchester Metropolitan University. Additionally, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Practice from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Architecture from the same institution. Matthew teaches postgraduate courses in the MA Architecture & Urbanism Theory, MA Architecture Dissertations, and MA Planning Dissertations.
