Dr. Matthew Stone

Biography

Matthew Stone is an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at the University of California, San Diego. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach in 2012. He went on to complete his PhD in Public Health at the University of California, San Diego in 2021. Afterward, he pursued a Postdoctoral research position at the University of Pennsylvania focusing on Tobacco Regulatory Science, followed by an additional Postdoc in Epidemiology in 2023. His research predominantly examines tobacco products, electronic nicotine delivery systems, cigarette smoking, product labeling, and smoking cessation. Throughout his career, Matthew has contributed to numerous publications and networks centered around the implications of tobacco regulations and public health initiatives. His work is recognized in various academic circles and aims to inform policy related to tobacco use in society. Matthew is actively involved in collaborative research efforts, as evidenced by his numerous co-authors and the selected publications that engage with prominent figures in the field. His impact on the academic community is evident from his research outputs and the citation of such work across multiple media platforms.
