Dr. Matthew Swinarski

Biography

Matthew Swinarski is an Associate Professor at Penn State Behrend in the Department of Management Information Systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Management from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2002. His research focuses on outsourcing services delivery capabilities and capability maturity models, while his teaching interests include database management systems and strategic management. He has served as the managing editor for the Journal Information Technology Theory & Application and has consulted for small to medium-sized companies in the Buffalo, NY area. Swinarski has developed and taught various courses in the MBA graduate program including Information Systems Management & Strategy, Database Spreadsheet Development, and Business Processes. He is active in professional societies such as the Decision Sciences Institute and has engaged in several speaking engagements and workshops relating to outsourcing and business education. His contributions to academia are marked by his commitment to integrating practical applications into educational programs. Additionally, he has received multiple accolades for his achievements in engineering and management education.
