Dr. Matthew Vandehei

Biography

Matthew VandeHei, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His educational background includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, residency at Denver Health Medical Center, and a fellowship in Ultrasound at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. VandeHei's professional interests focus on ultrasound education and regional anesthesia. He aims to leverage ultrasound to enhance procedural competence among medical students and residents, emphasizing the use of nerve blocks to minimize the need for procedural sedation and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries in patients. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the Assistant Ultrasound Director for medical student ultrasound education, where he integrates his passion for ultrasound into the curriculum.
