Biography

Matthias Görges co-leads the Pediatric Anesthesia Research Team within the Digital Health Innovation Lab at BC Children's Hospital Research Institute. He received his MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg, Germany, followed by a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, USA. Afterward, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia. Currently, Matthias serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology, & Therapeutics. His research focuses on developing and applying new technologies in pediatric anesthesia and intensive care, working collaboratively with trans-disciplinary teams including engineers, computer scientists, and healthcare providers.
