Biography

Matthias Grossglauser is a Professor in Computer Communication Sciences at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) where he co-directs the Information Network Dynamics lab. His research interests focus on Machine Learning, Stochastic Networks, Discrete Choice Models, applications of Artificial Intelligence, Reinforcement Learning, Network Science, Computational Social Sciences, and Recommender Systems. He served as a member of the Federal Communications Commission (ComCom) in Switzerland, an independent regulatory authority for the telecommunications market. Between 2016 and 2019, he was the director of EPFL's Doctoral School in Computer Communication Sciences. He has also held significant roles at Nokia Research Center and AT&T Research, contributing to advancements in security, networking, and user experience while advising top executives. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Sorbonne Universités.
