Biography

Since October 2024, Matthias Kramm holds a chair in Ethics, Theory, and History of Biosciences at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Tübingen University. From 2022 to 2024, he was a Rubicon Fellow at Wageningen University and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. His previous positions include a Postdoctoral position at Wageningen University on the GEOS project and teaching and research roles at Utrecht University. He completed his PhD in Philosophy at Utrecht University in 2020, with a dissertation focused on evaluating cultural traditions in developmental contexts. His academic background also includes a Bachelor's degree in Theology from Heythrop College, University of London, and a Master's degree in Philosophy from the Hochschule für Philosophie, Munich. His research interests encompass Environmental Ethics, Political Philosophy, Non-Western Philosophy, Capability Approach, Development Ethics, and Pragmatism.
