Biography

Matthias Rarey is a professor at the Center for Bioinformatics at the University of Hamburg, Germany. He studied computer science at Universität-Gesamthochschule Paderborn and received his Ph.D. from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. He has significant experience in cheminformatics and has worked at leading research institutes including GMD and Fraunhofer Institute. His research group focuses on computational molecular design and the development of innovative algorithms for molecular design problems. Rarey has contributed to many software tools used internationally in cheminformatics, such as FlexX and SMARTSeditor. He has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Chemical Information Modeling and has participated in various academic and scientific committees. He has also co-founded the cheminformatics company BioSolveIT GmbH and has been involved in multiple national and international conferences.
