Biography

Mattias Hammar received his MSc in 1986 and PhD in 1993 from the Department of Physics at the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH. Since 2007, he has been a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at KTH. Throughout his career, he has been associated with various prominent organizations, including the Swedish Institute of Microelectronics and IBM Research Division, and has worked with Zarlink Semiconductor. With extensive academic and industrial experience, he is primarily focused on optoelectronic materials and devices. He has managed and been involved in numerous national and international projects in the photonics area. Additionally, he serves as the Program Director for the International Master’s program in Nanotechnology at KTH, reflecting his deep commitment to advancing education in this field.
