Biography

Maud Lemoine is an Honorary Consultant in Hepatology at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College London, UK. She completed her medical degree and PhD in Paris, France, graduating from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris. Her research activities are primarily focused on the prevention and management of viral hepatitis in resource-limited countries, particularly in Africa. Since 2011, she has been working with the Medical Research Council (MRC) unit in Gambia on the hepatitis B PROLIFICA program aimed at preventing liver fibrosis and cancer in Africa. She is a member of the guideline development group for the management of chronic hepatitis B and C, and frequently engages in external reviews and consultancies for the viral hepatitis unit. Her work is supported by funding from the MRC UK, Wellcome Trust, ANRS, and Gilead Viiv healthcare.
