Dr. Maureen Carroll

Biography

Maureen S. Carroll is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Law School, where she teaches and writes in the areas of civil procedure, class actions, and civil rights litigation. Her research interests include procedure, substantive law, the structure of the legal profession, and how these elements interact to define the scope of access to justice, particularly in the context of identity-based discrimination and broadly shared injuries. Carroll's scholarship has been published in prestigious journals such as the Duke Law Journal, Boston University Law Review, and Indiana Law Journal. Prior to her academic career, she served as a staff attorney at Public Counsel in Los Angeles, focusing on impact litigation. She also worked as the Bernard A. Lenore S. Greenberg Law Review Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
