Biography

Maureen McBride is a Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Glasgow, where she currently serves as Convenor for Sociology Level 2. Her research interests span a range of social and economic inequalities, with specific focus on race, class, and youth. She was awarded her doctorate from the University of Glasgow in 2018 and subsequently undertook postdoctoral research on a project addressing child poverty and youth activism before rejoining the Sociology department in 2022. In addition to her research, Maureen supervises Honours and MSc dissertation students and is interested in supervising PhD projects that align with her research interests. Her teaching includes Sociology Level 2 and Qualitative Methods.
