Biography

Mauricio Hong is an assistant professor of medicine at Dell Medical School specializing in cardiology. He served as the program director for the clinical cardiac electrophysiology training program at Case Western University and directed the cardiac electrophysiology laboratory. Additionally, he is a professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Hong has been recognized as America’s Top Cardiologist by the Consumers’ Research Council of America and is a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. His research focuses on the treatment of ventricular arrhythmias in patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), including monitoring guided anticoagulation in stroke risk trials and reducing inappropriate shocks. He earned his M.D. from Universidad La Salle in Mexico and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, followed by fellowships in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the same institution and at the University of Toronto, respectively.
