Biography

Mauro Bonavita is a PhD student specializing in International Relations at King’s College London. His research focuses on maritime strategy, naval diplomacy, and maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region. He also investigates European maritime strategies concerning the Indo-Pacific and India's foreign policy in the Indian Ocean Region. As a founding member of the Indo-Pacific research group at King's, he contributes to the understanding of geopolitical strategies in the region. Additionally, Mauro serves as a Visiting Fellow at the National Maritime Foundation in New Delhi, India. His teaching experience includes courses in International Relations, Conflict Diplomacy, and Political Economy within the Department of War Studies and the Department of Political Economy at King's College London. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Genova in Italy and an MSc in Geopolitics and Strategic Studies from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain. His research thesis is titled 'The Indian Navy’s Role in India’s Indo-Pacific Strategy'.
