Biography

Max Nikias is a distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC) and holds the Malcolm R. Currie Chair in Technology Humanities. He is a President Emeritus and Life Trustee of USC. During his presidency from 2010 to 2018, he led initiatives that elevated USC to a globally recognized research institution, successfully managing the largest fundraising campaign in higher education at that time, which raised over $6 billion. He has an extensive background in digital signal processing, digital media systems, and biomedicine, holding more than 275 publications and numerous patents adopted by defense sectors.
