Biography

Max Skorodinsky is a researcher in Computer Science education focused on the experiences of LGBTQIA+ students within the fields of Computer Science and STEM education. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Information School of the University of Washington, Max leads an NSF-funded research project aimed at assessing the needs of community practices among middle and high school computer science teachers in the Pacific Northwest, including regions such as Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Max's broader research interests concentrate on equity and social justice issues in Computer Science education, advocating for the inclusion and elevation of marginalized voices within the field, particularly concerning transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. Outside of research, Max enjoys parenting, spending time with a pet chocolate lab, gardening, reading, cooking, and engaging in tabletop games and word puzzles.
