Biography

Max Visser is an Associate Professor in the Business Economics group at Radboud University. He received his Master's degrees in Public Administration and American Studies from the University of Groningen, Netherlands, and a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Kansas, USA. After completing his PhD in Social Science in 1998, Visser worked in various research associate roles at the University of Twente from 1990 to 1996. He transitioned to the private sector, serving as a project manager at PAO-BB/De Baak and SSR until 2000, when he returned to academia as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration at Nijmegen School of Management. In 2012, he joined the Business Economics group. His teaching and research focus on Learning Organizations, exploring how management accounting control systems influence organizational behavior and performance, as well as addressing broader social, ecological, and economic challenges. Visser advocates for radical humanist perspectives to foster sustainable alternatives in current production and consumption systems.
