Biography

Max Wu is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Political Science at Carleton University. He has a strong academic background with degrees including a BA from National Taiwan University, an MA from National Chengchi University, and a PhD from Carleton University. His prior work has focused on the China Indo-Pacific region, notably at the Taipei-based National Chengchi University Institute of International Relations. His doctoral research involved the use of Social Constructivism and New Institutionalism to analyze the development of Canada's role in the historical process of the global 'one China' institution. Max's research interests extend to the relationalist perspective and cultural-psychological approaches, especially regarding interactions and exchanges both domestically and internationally, with particular emphasis on the context of East Asia. At Carleton, he teaches courses related to the East Asia region, including 'Foreign Policies of Major East Asian Powers' and 'State, Society, and Economy in Northeast Asia.'
