Biography

Maxime Borg is a Fellow in the Social Policy Department at the London School of Economics. He completed his PhD at the European University Institute, where his dissertation examined the increasing prevalence of precarious employment among high-skilled workers and its impacts on welfare states in Europe. His research offers a blend of statistical analysis and case study approaches, focusing on contemporary issues such as the politics of social policies, the dynamics of platform workers, historical political economy, self-employment, and the distributional effects of the knowledge economy on labor market politics and family policy. Prior to joining LSE, Maxime held teaching positions at Sorbonne Nouvelle University and Lyon 2 University, and served as a visiting scholar at Sciences Po and the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated in Public Policy from Sciences Po Lyon and has expertise in Political Economy from the London School of Economics. Maxime has accumulated valuable experience working in applied research at notable institutes, including Verian and the Kantar Centre for Future Europe.
