Biography

Maxwell Crossley is a Professor of Chemistry, specializing in Organic Chemistry, at the University of Sydney. He began his career as a post-doctoral fellow at the Research Institute of Medicine Chemistry in Massachusetts, USA, under Professor Sir Derek Barton in 1976. He later worked as a Research Associate at MIT before moving to Oxford University to continue his work with Professor Baldwin. His primary research interests focus on Porphyrin Chemistry and its applications, along with Amino Acids, Peptides, and Molecular Electronics. He has secured over A$10 million in research funding and published more than 195 peer-reviewed articles, delivering plenary lectures at numerous international conferences and symposia. Crossley leads a growing research group at the University of Sydney, which currently consists of 10 members, and engages in various collaborations with local and international universities.
