Biography

May-Tal Sauerbrun-Cutler, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she also serves as the Director of the Fertility Preservation Division and the medical student Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) rotation at Women & Infants Hospital in Rhode Island. Dr. Sauerbrun-Cutler received her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in 2010, followed by her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai and a REI fellowship at Women & Infants Hospital/Brown University, which she completed in 2020. Her research focuses on medical fertility preservation and its implications, including insurance mandates and embryo development in IVF outcomes. She has conducted pilot studies on telehealth fertility preservation and the barriers to reproductive health care for cancer patients. Dr. Sauerbrun-Cutler has experience analyzing fertility preservation cycles using data from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and is currently working on evaluating fertility preservation utilization in Rhode Island. She is an active member of several national committees and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
